Autopsy Number 3194 was my first work on a floor loom. I used an alternating color warp with with this work. I had the intent form the beginning, to make the piece more chaotic as I wove upwards, so the closer I got to the end of my warp, the more I didn't follow the pattern and the more yarns I added.
This handwoven material was made with black and white yarns in a basic twill pattern to create a hounds-tooth pattern. Over the upper-half of the work abstract shapes have been printed in neon bright colors to create chaos in a usual uniform piece of fabric. Various textured and hand-spun yarns have been added to disrupt the conformity of the piece as it is was woven. Smaller "scribble head" characters are strewn throughout the piece as if they are inciting the chaos. They weave themselves and color into the word, as a way of "intruding" within the work and a stable mind.
