I created this series of patches, inspired by my time in girl scouts, to try and find my sense of self. Each patch means something different but collectively make up me. This series is called Profoundly Disturbing due to one of my professors thanking me for sharing my story in class about why I was making these. I have no sense of self due to my rough upbringing and lack of childhood. When you brain is constantly on survival mode, even when you sleep, you cannot develop a sense of self. I am safe now so I am exploring my sense of self in my newly safe environment that are my Fibers M.F.A classes. This was made in Studio I.
